Disaster Recovery

Parlance understands the importance of the continued performance of your enterprise voice network. Our managed voice service includes some standard and optional components to insure that you have the right level of disaster recovery capabilities available for your organization.

Proactive Activities
Parlance proactively works to prevent system failures using an early warning agent.  On each system there is a software component called Watchdog that monitors for hardware and software faults.  If detected, the fault is automatically and immediately reported to Parlance. If it is a software fault, Watchdog attempts to repair the problem.  Watchdog is a critical software component that enables Parlance to proactively resolve problems, often before they impact a caller or you are aware of them.


Standard Elements
1. Off-Site Data Backup
- Parlance maintains backups of critical data from each customer system at an offsite location.  In the event of a catastrophic failure or loss of data, Parlance can quickly provide a replacement system or restore the data in a manner that does not depend on information stored at your site.

2.  System Swap- If a catastrophic failure does require a system replacement, Parlance guarantees that a fully configured replacement system is available at your site within 24-48 hours, depending on your geographic location.

Optional Elements
1. Port Redundancy can be provided through the use of clusters which provide built-in redundancy to eliminate service outages for mission-critical applications.  Cluster units may be installed at a single site or distributed geographically across multiple sites and are managed as one system. A catastrophic failure effecting one service unit results only in reduced call capacity instead of a complete service outage.

2.  Server Component Redundancy - server hardware can be optionally configured to use a RAID 1, hot-swappable SCSI hard disk array and dual, hot-swappable power supplies.
